Pay-As-You-Go Cell Phone Plan
I’d like to talk a little bit about StraightTalk. This is a new pay-as-you-go/no contract service for cell phones that will save you money on your phone bill. They offer a $30 plan with limits or a $45 plan with unlimited phone, text, and data for 30 days.
Currently I’m paying $116/month for an AT&T family plan with 500 minutes, 1000 texts, and 200mb data. As you know, if I exceed these limits AT&T imposes incredibly unfair overage fees.
Since the website www.straighttalk.com looks really shoddy I wasnt sure if I could trust this sounds-too-good-to-be-true product, but I went ahead and tried it anyway.
You have a couple options. Go to WalMart and buy a StraightTalk phone and signup there, or if you’re lucky enough to have an unlocked phone, you can just go to their website and buy a plan and sim card. I bought the $45 unlimited plan with a $15 AT&T compatible simcard and had it shipped in 3 fedex business days. This is what came.
- A Getting started book.
- A standard simcard and a micro simcard.
Then go online to activate the sim card. Go to www.straighttalksim.com and login.
